About

At the intersection of sustainability, innovation and organization development, I am the founder of AnLuMa, a consultancy firm supporting organizations to reach higher levels of sustainability and an assistant professor at Nyenrode Business Universiteit.

My drive is to bring sustainability in practice. I am true lover of Nature especially mountains. Mountains are for me the materialization of beauty and peace. Another key driver for me is that I cannot stand inequality, the wide gap between these who have and these who have not.

On daily basis, I aim to create bridges between (academic) knowledge on sustainable development and change makers to trigger positive impact. As a catalyst, AnLuMa offers a range of services to inspire, explore and implement practices to reach higher levels of sustainability. Check AnLuMa services page here. Contact me if you want to exchange on your sustainability journey via this email. Each journey starts with a first step!

At Nyenrode, as an assistant professor, I lecture and research on sustainable development and the role of the private sector.  Especially, I am researching alternative organizational and management routines as a driver for sustainability performance. Which dynamic capabilities support companies in their transformation towards higher levels of sustainability? I am also interested in how sustainable value propositions achieve market growth and how it influences organization development.

Prior, I was the founder and managing Director of the Inclusive Business Accelerator (IBA) (now part of VC4A): an online one stop shop to accelerate Inclusive Business. At IBA, I built and nurtured partnerships with industrial partners, public authorities, NGOs, and social entrepreneurs to develop and scale ventures with impact.

My passion for Africa and the development of innovations led me to co-found the BoP Innovation Center (BoPInc) in 2011. BoPInc assists local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinationals in the development, marketing, and distribution of their products or services to the Base of Pyramid (low income groups) in emerging markets (Africa and South-East Asia).

Prior to joining the BoP innovation center and IBA, I was the deputy manager of the programme “Innovation for Development” and, the co-founder and leader of the ” ICT for Development” market team at TNO, the Dutch Organization for Applied Scientific Research. Adding to my international experience, I had been a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA, to carry out my PhD work and an international volunteer for the international organization “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie” in Madagascar.

I hold a PhD and engineering degree from the National Institute of Telecommunications (France) and completed my education with executive training on social entrepreneurship at INSEAD.
